Today, a Security Bulletin (APSB12-01) has been posted in regards to this quarter’s security updates for Adobe Reader and Acrobat. The updates address critical security issues in the products, including CVE-2011-2462 and CVE-2011-4369, previously addressed in Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.x for Windows as referenced in Security Bulletin APSB11-30. Adobe recommends that users apply the updates for their product installations.
The next quarterly security updates for Adobe Reader and Acrobat are currently scheduled for April 10, 2012.

A prenotification Security Advisory has been posted in regards to the upcoming quarterly Adobe Reader and Acrobat updates scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The Security Advisory (APSA11-04) regarding CVE-2011-2462 has been updated to reflect the expected release date of Friday December 16, 2011 for the Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.x for Windows updates to resolve this issue.
As stated before, because Adobe Reader X Protected Mode and Adobe Acrobat X Protected View would prevent an exploit of this kind from executing, we are currently planning to address this issue in Adobe Reader X and Acrobat X for Windows with the next quarterly security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat, currently scheduled for January 10, 2012. A Security Advisory (APSA11-04) has been posted in regards to a new critical vulnerability in Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh, Adobe Reader 9.4.6 and earlier 9.x versions for UNIX, and Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.1) and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh. This vulnerability (CVE-2011-2462) could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.
There are reports that the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild in limited, targeted attacks against Adobe Reader 9.x on Windows.
We are in the process of finalizing a fix for the issue and expect to make available an update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat 9.x for Windows no later than the week of December 12, 2011. Because Adobe Reader X Protected Mode and Adobe Acrobat X Protected View would prevent an exploit of this kind from executing, we are currently planning to address this issue in Adobe Reader X and Acrobat X for Windows with the next quarterly security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat, currently scheduled for January 10, 2012. A Security Advisory (APSA11-02) has been posted in regards to a critical vulnerability that exists in Flash Player 10.2.153.1 and earlier versions (Adobe Flash Player 10.2.154.25 and earlier for Chrome users) for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris, Adobe Flash Player 10.2.156.12 and earlier versions for Android, and the Authplay.dll component that ships with Adobe Reader and Acrobat X (10.0.2) and earlier 10.x and 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh operating systems. This vulnerability (CVE-2011-0611) could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this vulnerability is being exploited in the wild in targeted attacks via a Flash (.swf) file embedded in a Microsoft Word (.doc) file delivered as an email attachment, targeting the Windows platform. At this time, Adobe is not aware of any attacks via PDF targeting Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
