A pretty common customer ask has been for us to implement a “Night Mode”, to make reading documents in dark places easier…both on your eyes and on the people around you. So we’ve added a Night Mode which inverts black and white. This viewing mode helps to reduce eye strain, and can even extend your battery because your device won’t need to light up as many pixels on your display.
This will be coming in an update for iOS and Android soon, and will make it to other mobile platforms as soon as we can fit it in.
- With Night Mode off, you see the document exactly as it was created.
- With Night Mode on, your pages are black, and your text is white, for easy reading in low light.

Adobe Reader for Tablets and Smartphones

Can this feature be added to Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro as well? I read many more documents on my computer at work than on my phone and would greatly appreciate Night Mode.
I’ll pass the request along!
+1 on Night mode for desktop app
I agree with having night-mode on computers. It would be very useful.
Go to the Preferences > Accessibility >
And then enable “Replace Document Colors”, then “Use High-Contrast Colors”.
I believe it should work for all newer versions.
“Adobe Acrobat X Pro”
Yes please, Night mode for my desktop. That would be a dream.
