I have some problems to install adobe photoshop CS5, that made since 1 week that I seek a solution, I went on the site of adobe, but I did not find any solution.I have to clean with cleanup scripts, but abobe to install detects that a restarting of the system is on standby when I want to install CS5.and if I am unaware of this problem, after the installation of adobe photoshop cs5, I have an error message when I test to launch it.(error 16…) adobe requires desinstaller of me and to reinstall the product. and one 2nd fenètre opens and says: packs of additional languages except license were found in the files of the application. to start again the application.please… if you had a solution I you will be very grateful.
I have been having difficulties with installing the CS5 upgrade. I get a message saying not to run bridge. I closed all programs and rebooted and I continue to get the same message. “Close bridge exe”Can you please tell me how to get around this problem?Regards,Rickhq34up
@Rick,It seems that bridge is launching on log on for you.Can you reboot the machine again and check for any bridge related process in Task Manager. If it is present you need to kill it before you can start installation of CS5 suite/products.
I am a student and I have been tring to install CS5 but keep finding problems installing Premiere AND photoshop. Everthing else works and installs OK. i have run into several issues of Exit errors 6, 7, and 8. Never all of them at the same time. There is always some issue. I have uninstalled the OS(Vista Home Premium 64 bit) and installed windows 7 Ultimate 64bit all to no avail. Same problems. I have run the scripts, etc. I am so frustrated and I have a project due very soon! i am now beginning to learn Final Cut Pro. I don’t ever hear about these problem there… If Apple ever got smart enough and wrote that programme for PC, Adobee would b in trouble
@George: As this issue needs to resolve soon for your project. It need to check the log file of the installation because it seems to be a permission issue with registry or the program folders.
Perform the below steps in order:
Step 1:
- Turn Off the User Access Control.
- To turn off UAC
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.
3. In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts.
4. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.
5. Slide the bar to the bottom.
6. Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and then click OK.
7. Click Restart Now to apply the change right away.
Step 2:
- Create a new admin account, Earlier notes says an admin account was created so can use that.
Step 3:
- Perform Clean Boot.
- Run -> MSCOnfig.
- Select Selective startup.
- Uncheck Load Startup items(You have done this but should be in the same pattern).
- Click on Services Tab. Check “Hide all Microsoft Services”. Click on “Disable All”.
- Apply and then close.
- Restart the computer.
Step 4:
- Login to the new user account.
Step 5:
- Run the CS5 removal tool. Download and run the one for windows.

Step 6:
- Create a desktop installation point. Get in the paylod folder and start the manual installation of a the Microsoft VC file one by one.
Step 7:
- After installing all the Microsoft Vc run the setup.exe for the main installer.
Like many others I have had a very stressful 3 days trying to get Dreamweaver CS5 installed. The final gui, Manish Kumar, fro the Adobe Escalation team solved the problem within 30 minutes. He had to send me a new version of the UpdaterNotifications.dll file. This information was in the install logs. I caanot see me updating to a new Adobe product ever again.

The Setup encountered an error(-1) during install. Please restart the machine and try again.
After an unsuccessful first attempt at installing Photoshop CS5 on a new iMac, I have talked to three different Adobe Tech Support people who insist on only reciting what I have already done.
The installation always quits at about the 63% mark, with an error 17. They even used the CS5 cleaner when they had control of my desktop.
How can I solve this????
@gracy: This issue mostly comes in CS3. Do let me know about the suite or point product and the OS?
Try these steps too:
1) Restart the Mac/WIndows.
2) Create a new Admin account and login and then copy the contents of the installation disk to the desktop.

3) start the installation of cs4.
I have asked for adobe support an the have used a lot af time to help med without any succes. The made the conclusion: “It is a windows problem”!
I run windows 7 64 bit pro.
This is the following error that I’ve received after 4 failed attempts to install CS5 on 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate. I have also use the CS5 clean up utility and I’m still receiving the same error.

Resolution was to download the CS5 installer once again from http://www.adobe.com and it worked like a charm.
Solved error(20) for Adobe CS5 Design Standard install by running the installer from the local C drive, and nearly all the optional components. To skip optional components, choose custom install, click on any of the main programs and uncheck the optional crap.
For me the problem was that i was trying to install it from a mapped drive. As soon as I copied the install files to the desktop, it installed just fine.

I’m trying to install CS5 Master Collection on a MacBook Pro running 10.6.5
The installer says Initializing Installer, the icon of CS5 Installation Manager pops up in the dock, but then nothing happens. The only thing I can do is to select force quit, which says “CS5 Installation Manager (not responding)”. Shouldn’t there be a Welcome screen at this point?
We are trying to install Adobe CS5 Web Premium from both download and a dvd and continue to get “an error occurred” error but no error number. The computers had CS3 and CS4 on them. CS3 was removed but we are unable to get CS5 to install. It starts to install after selecting the options but quits with “an error has occurred” error. The computers are running Windows XP SP3 on a Novell ZCM 10.3 network. We have had no problems with CS3 or CS4 installs.
Hello – I’m trying to get help from Adobe – unsuccessfully. I just purchased the most powerful Dell laptop currently available. The CS5 Professional application will not install. It is a 64 bit system Intel i7 Quad core. Windows 7 professional. Your TAC is telling me that I do not have a fast enough CPU to install the software on. My CPU consists of four parallel 1.73 GHz cores. Your installer is seeking a faster single CPU and therefore errors out. I get the following errors in my PDapp Installation log WA.SystemRequirement SystemRequirements check FAILED for payload – Adobe Media Encoder CS5.
How can this possibly not be a powerful enough laptop. I just spent $2000.00 on a cutting edge laptop with the fastest processor currently sold. Please fix your installer file.
I tried to install Adobe Suite several times but always installation freez sometimes when 7% completed and athor times when 4% complted. and when I tried to install the illistrator only it always freez when it 17% completed. so please help
I am trying to install CS5 Prod. Prem. However my DVD Drive cannot pick up the Disk.
I have tried it in a laptop and it picks it up there (so could be Optical Drive Error OR Drive not able to see dual layer disks?) Regardless, attempting installation from Desktop but when it wants disk 2 I cannot provide it… have attempted to transfer all data from all disks to the C Drive… but to no avail, same problem… Now considering using Alcohol 120% to create virtual disk for installation… Any hints?

Adobe support????? There is no support. I wait on hold for hours — no one ever answers. I leave a call back number — no one ever calls back. Adobe must not be interested in providing customer service.

Just wondering if this issue is closed. I have followed the instruction above and still have the problem. I am installing CS5 Production Suite onto Win7 in BootCamp. Here’s the log that was asked to contact customer support. Any help is appreciated. It’s been a week and still cannot get this to installed.

CS5 installed fine on my desktop (XP 32 bit) but my laptop is win7 64 bit and it does not install

It appears that the issue is due to the corrupt installer. Can you try to download the installer again and report back?
Trying to install Premiere 4 on 64-bit Vista was a nightmare — in spite on multiple consultations with customer support and trying all the “solutions” in the forums. Eventually, I gave up…
Now, trying to install Premiere 5 is being another nightmare: “Error 16 (configuration error)”. As usual, the “solutions” on the forums don’t do anything.
I’ll stick to my current Premiere 3 until Adobe rolls out a product that actually works on 64-bit Vista

I am not sure if you are on Win or Mac:
Win
Goto Run and type: %temp%. The file PDApp.log should be present there
Installer Logs Program Files\Common files\Adobe\Installers
Mac
Goto /Users//Library/Logs and the PDApp.log file will be present there.
Installer Logs /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers
Once you have all the 3 files, please upload them to some free file server and attach the link here for me to access them.
How do I close Adobe Bridge CS5.1 ( Bridge.exe) as requested by latest update to finish th install update Photoshop Camera Raw? I am a relarive neophyte to this! Thanks Bob
I have recently purchased a laptop and have tried without success to install CS5 which I have on my desktop. It installs about 80-85% then says there is an error.
