Moving Fw assets across machines

If you have custom panels, extensions and other Fireworks assets you would like to move from one machine to another, just copy the appropriate sub-folders under the location mentioned below into the new machine:

<OS Drive>:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS5\

Vista/Win 7:

<OS Drive>:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Fireworks CS5\

\Users\<username>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Fireworks CS5\

Once the files from the corresponding sub-folders have been copied, restart Fireworks on the new machine and you will see the same state of fireworks as previous system.

Fw Crash report looked at by engineers

If you are wondering what happens to the crash reports that you send with comments, they get a look by me or other engineers on the Fireworks team.

We have to read all kind of langauge and data entered to understand what was the workflow and state of app before it crashed.

It would be really helpful if you could submit the crash reports with as much data as possible alongwith your mail IDs. Incase we need to contact you we have a mail ID where we can ask for more details like screen recording to know the exact reproduction steps or something similar for further information.

Ask a CS Pro recordings

There have been a series of "Ask a CS Pro" series where the Creative Suite team members have answered a lot of user queries and helped them under the CS5 release better.

If you missed this opportunity, you can view the recording at your leisure times. Till date there have been 3 sessions done. White, Jason Levine and Greg Rewis) (

Migration to wordpress

The blog is being moved from MT to wordpress.

If you have subscribed to this blog as RSS feeds, you might get a few new entries reported in your rss reader. This is just the migration which might make some older entries appear as new ones.

The migration is expected to happen in near future.

If you see any broken links, please leave a comment on any post and I will have that fixed.

Cheers to WordPress 3.0!
