EVDO on Apple’s new MacBook Pro

If you’re not already familiar with EVDO, start at the site. Basically, it’s wireless broadband just about anywhere. Many of us on the technical resources team spend so much time on the road that we need a fast, convenient, and wireless way to keep in touch. We’re all heavy Mac users, and these EVDO cards have worked very well in the PC Card slots of our PowerBooks.

MoGo Mouse

For you road warriors out there, Newport Peripherals has announced this hot little travel mouse at CES last week. It’s a two-button, bluetooth device that stores and charges in your PC card slot. Retail price is $69.95US and I’m trying to get my hands on one. Also, don’t miss the funky little beatnik movie. Reminds me of Waking Life.

Update: I just got a call from the folks at Newport Peripherals and they told me they expect to ship this little gadget in 60-90 days.

Rochester or Bust! All in a day’s travel…

Tuesday, October 25, 2005, 1pm.
Hurricane Wilma, blowing up from the southwest, is supposed to rendezvous with some sort of weather front that will become what we here in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area call a Nor’easter. The car service is due to pick me up at 1:45pm and deliver me to Newark Liberty International Airport’s terminal C where I’ll hop on a short Continental Airlines flight to Rochester.
