Yahoo, TiVo to connect services

By way of CNet News- this interesting pairing of Yahoo and TiVo's back-end services could prove quite interesting in the months to come. If the recent Yahoo! Maps beta is any early indicator of what's in store for developers, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a rich set of APIs will made available for this service. (Cause if so- I'll be mashing this up six ways from Sunday in very short order.)

They're already connected.

They even support TiVos that dial-up.

Yep, and the connection seems to work well - my wife, for example, used the Yahoo TV listings on their 'portal' site already (and has just programmed the TiVo remotely for the first time, a miracle in itself!).

I just haven't heard specifics on API-level support for the listings/TiVo programming (still working mainly w/the TiVo HMO API in my own hackings...), which is what I'm still hoping for. Yahoo's been very good with APIs lately, so I'm keeping fingers crossed... ;-)

Guess I'm gonna have to join the tivo revolution now. I am very interested in the possible mashups with this, I mean people could incorporate what they are tivoing through their myspace pages and such.. a lot of possibilites...
