LiveCycle ES2 review from Network World

Networkworld.com published a review of LiveCycle ES2 titled "Adobe LiveCycle gives business apps a shot in the arm."

"The quality of the accelerators' coding and documentation was impressive. I installed and modified the eSubmissions Solution Accelerator, which lets users collect and approve PDF documents required for filing new drug applications with regulatory agencies. Since this accelerator bundles review, commenting, approval and ondemand building blocks, I estimate the development cycle was cut in half for a production-ready application."

Update: Partner Connection Portal

Improvements based on your feedback

Over the past few weeks we have implemented a series of updates in the Adobe Partner Portal. In addition to rearranging the layout, we have reworked the navigation and included more content. These optimizations and supplements were based on the feedback of many Adobe Solution Partners, whom we wish to sincerely thank for their comments and suggestions. Now, finding what you need to support your business will be even faster and easier!

Accessing the benefits of the Adobe Partner Program
The Adobe Partner Connection Portal is obviously the right place to access Adobe resources. But that's not all: Thanks to your valuable input, we have enhanced the portal with additional functions and features.

Google full-text index searching already live on Partner Connection Portal
You can now browse through more than 20,000 documents, announcements, and Partner Program benefits via Google search. In the past, this was only possible based on titles and metatags, which presented a problem to those who did not know the exact title of what they were looking for. Google search now facilitates effective index searching and lists the results by relevance and number of hits. For Adobe partners, this simply means having the right information when they need it.

Here are some of the key improvements:
  • Optimized navigation, including an all-new area with various showcase projects from Adobe partners
  • A more attractive look and feel, along with new functions to help you find relevant information more quickly
  • Google search
  • A new community area with blogs, forums, and events

Repost From: Adobe Conversations Blog

Rob Tarkoff, SVP and GM of the Business Productivity Business Unit, addressed the Enterprise community on November 3rd at the Enterprise 2.0 conference in San Francisco. The conference explores the integration of Web 2.0 and social business technologies in the enterprise.

In his keynote address "The Customer-Driven Enterprise," Rob challenged the community with how enterprise software today is failing to deliver engaging customer experiences. He talked about Adobe's vision for transforming customer interactions and presented a healthcare vision demo to make this real for the audience.

Needless to say, Rob gave the entire community something to think about.

We highly recommend you watch the replay of Rob Tarkoff's keynote on E2TV
  • Scroll down the page and click on the player to start it.
  • Once it has initialized go to the bottom of the player and click "on demand"
  • On the right hand side of the player, click on "Enterprise 2.0 November 2009," then "Keynotes/Sessions", then choose Adobe Rob Tarkoff's keynote.

Adobe Flash Platform is increasingly adding new services that allow you to build rch Enterprise Applications. The Flash Platform Services make it possible to add collaboration features, distribution features and options that allow you to sell AIR applications using try & buy functionality.

Gartner recently released a research note about the Flash Collaboration Services. A quote from this report:

Adobe will likely become the first vendor to offer cloud-based component collaboration services that can be integrated into business applications. For example, an enterprise could create a training tool for sales agents where the students act as customers to help each other improve skills for customer interaction and upselling.
