Get up and running with RoboHelp 9 sample projects


Your RoboHelp 9 installation (download from here) includes two sample projects called EmployeeCare and SalesBuilder. The EmployeeCare project is designed as a Policies and Procedures knowledgebase. The SalesBuilder project is designed as an Application Help project. We recommend that you play with these thoughtfully designed sample projects, checking out the authoring best practices, layout settings, and output types.

Where to find the samples
The sample projects are stored in the \Samples\en_US folder.

Where to find installed Help for the samples
You can find information about the sample projects in README.PDF and in the AUTHOR_INFO_READ_FIRST folder of the sample projects.

The \Samples\en_US folder contains a Readme file that briefly describes the EmployeeCare and SalesBuilder projects.

AUTHOR_INFO_READ_FIRST
Both projects include a folder called AUTHOR_INFO_READ_FIRST. This folder contains detailed descriptions about the project.

What you can do with the EmployeeCare project
• Get a quick overview of new features in the About Adobe RoboHelp 9 topic
• Learn how to implement Dynamic User-Centric Content (DUCC). Using this new feature, you can enable users to filter content based on categories that you have defined
• Learn how to set up commenting in AIR Help
• Learn how to specify the path for the configuration file that site administrators can use to modify various collaboration settings
• Learn how to use keywords, user-defined variables, snippets, and master pages
• Generate output in the ready-to-use layouts, such as ePub
Note: Make a copy before you modify any layout. That way, you’ll be able to compare the differences between your version and the supplied version.

What you can do with the SalesBuilder project
• Get a quick overview of new features in the About Adobe RoboHelp 9 topic
• Get a detailed description of new features from the topics in the Feature_Topics folder
• Learn how to create a context-sensitive help system (Salesbuilder-help.air) for an application (SalesbuilderWtW.air)
• Generate output in the ready-to-use layouts
