Editing Styles in RoboHelp for Linked FrameMaker Books - Part 2
In my previous post, I showed how a style can be edited in RoboHelp by editing the style sheet fmstyles.css. After you edit the style, the change is preserved on further updates in RoboHelp for changes in the linked FrameMaker book. In the attached Captivate demo (Update- I have added a "Click to Start" button to the demo), I show how you can create or edit a style in fmstyles.css, map it to a FrameMaker style (which was previously mapped to "Source") and update the content in RoboHelp.
Note - When you make the change in fmstyles.css or style mapping, always use "Force Update" to update the linked content.

Thanks for the tutorial Vivek.
On a related note, is it possible to use styles to implement drop-down content in RH when using Framemaker? I've not been able to figure out how to do this.
Also, is it possible to implement "pass through" content using styles? Basically, I have content in my source FrameMaker files that I currently (using a competitor's tool) pass through directly to the HTML output. This means I take care of all the HTML tagging on the Frame side.

It is possible to "pass through" content using styles. You can specify a User Defined Tag as part of import settings and apply the tag for specific styles. You can therefore take care of HTML tagging inside FrameMaker.
At present, defining drop down text in FrameMaker and mapping it through styles in RoboHelp is not supported. As a workaround, you may want to use a new functionality in RoboHelp. You can edit content in RoboHelp to introduce drop down text in RoboHelp and preserve the HTML files during FrameMaker update. This is obviously not the best solution and going forward, we will consider native support for drop down and expanding text in the mapping process - Vivek
