Introducing Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4

Tuesday, July 24 2012 @ 10:03 AM, By Ankur Jain

I’m very excited to introduce the all new Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4.

When I go meet with our customers, I hear that their consumers demand technical content to be easily consumable, highly interactive, quickly searchable, immediately actionable, and always available on-the-move. The movement to structured authoring is picking up. The rapid penetration of handheld devices is driving major implications on content distribution. Hence, the ways in which the content needs to be created, enriched, reviewed, and delivered are also changing. It’s our goal of providing the end to end solution to support all of the above requirements — while offering the highest return on investment, the lowest total cost of ownership, and the fastest go-to-market  — that resulted into Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4.

Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 integrates the latest versions of Adobe’s content creation tools to help users author, enrich, review, manage and publish high-impact technical content. The Suite includes FrameMaker 11, RoboHelp 10, Illustrator CS6, Captivate 6, Acrobat X Pro, and Presenter 8.

Our customers helped us shape Technical Communication Suite 4 and with it now in their hands, we will all experience some incredible things. Taking advantage of the tight integration amongst the multi-faceted tools in Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4, enterprises and SMEs alike can now make their content available to the end users virtually anywhere anytime. We have made a significant effort in this release to deliver tools that empower today’s technical communicators to deliver tomorrow’s content. The XML authoring enhancements in FrameMaker 11, the Multiscreen HTML5 publishing prowess of RoboHelp 10, and the rich multimedia capabilities in Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 due to the inclusion of Illustrator CS6 and Presenter 8 are testimony to our commitment to constantly listen to the customer and deliver innovative solutions.

Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 is a killer release with hundreds of new capabilities rolling up to four focus areas:

  • Work faster with cross-product integration: Leverage tight FrameMaker—RoboHelp, FrameMaker—Illustrator, FrameMaker—Photoshop, FrameMaker—Acrobat, RoboHelp—Acrobat, and RoboHelp—Adobe Captivate integration for superior content creation and delivery. Integrate content from other suite components natively in FrameMaker and speed up time-to-market.
  • Easily author and enrich XML/DITA content: Natively author XML/DITA content with role-based views, XSLT 2.0 and XPath 2.0 support, Smart Paste, Quick Catalogs, and DITA 1.2 enhancements. Liven up content with stunning graphics, product demos in HD, engaging FLV and SWF videos, and interactive presentations.
  • Publish to multiple channels and screens using Multiscreen HTML5: Publish contemporary technical content to virtually any device with Multiscreen HTML5 and other popular formats such as EPUB (EPUB 3, EPUB 2.0.1), Kindle Book (MOBI/KF8), and native mobile apps (e.g. .apk for Android). Make your publishing workflow highly extensible by simply specifying the screen size and layout. Optimize content display for a better reading experience, and preview it while authoring. Technical Communication Suite 4 enables you to single-source and publishes technical content to 17 output formats.
  • Increase enterprise productivity: Deliver content faster using productivity boosters for individual contributors and collaborating teams. Improve your throughput with rapid authoring features, PDF-based reviews, native connectivity with CMSs, automatic code and content suggestions, and error-tracking. The Suite also provides native integration with SharePoint enabling an end-to-end solution.

At Adobe we’re excited about the opportunity to help our technical communication customers in delivering business value. Technical Communication Suite addresses the entire content lifecycle. We are continually innovating to make our solutions more powerful, more seamless to use and more effective for our customers’ bottom lines. Our strategy of offering one integrated solution that brings together a customer’s business, content and technology strategy is unique in the industry. Our customers tell us that solving this end-to-end equation is the single biggest technology challenge they face, and we’re proud to be partnering with them to help them solve it.

I’m pleased to share that Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 is also the first release of Adobe Technical Communication products to be offered on a subscription basis. Team Adobe will continue to share more information and post videos in the coming days via this blog, facebook, twitter etc.

We couldn’t be more excited about this release and can’t wait to see what you do with them.
