Do you think that Portland, Oregon is too far away?
For those of you in Europe, this is an easy trip; one airline has round trip, non-stop flights from Amsterdam! A sample round trip airfare is shown below (full price, including taxes, etc.):
Several other airlines have one-stop, easy connecting flights through Seattle or San Francisco. Whether you are flying domestically within the USA or from overseas, be sure to book your flight for a Saturday arrival at the latest, so you can attend Adobe Day Sunday morning on October 20th.
What you’ll like about Portland, besides Adobe Day …
Portland will seem slightly European due to the excellent light rail transportation, the high proportion of coffee shops, healthy dining venues and of course, our bicyclists. Oregon is a very green state in more ways than one; we recently expanded our portion of the west coast electric highway with the state’s first Tesla supercharger. Anyone driving a Tesla can grab a quick bite to eat just south of Portland, while their car is fully charged in about 25 minutes.
The city’s eccentric character has been perfectly captured in the hit TV series “Portlandia.” View a few episodes, and you’ll be booking your plane ticket before the prices go up!
The inspiration that you’ll receive from both Adobe Day and Lavacon are worth traveling to from the ends of the earth. We locals can take the MAX train downtown. Our friends from Vancouver BC and Seattle can take Amtrak, if they prefer not to fly or drive. For those of you who do fly, international customs on arrival are painless, and you’ll soon discover why Portland’s airport, PDX, has been named “America’s Best Airport” for 5 consecutive years!
Watch for future “what to do while in Portland” mini-blogs. You see, that’s where your Adobe Product Evangelist for Tech Comm lives.
