After Effects CS4 Help is live! (...but it's still in beta)

We've just posted After Effects CS4 Help on the Web. We still have some work to do and bugs to fix, but we figured that you'd get a lot of benefit from having this up early.

Here's a link to the "New features in After Effects CS4 section". It lists the top 11 new features, with links to detailed information about each.

Perhaps more useful is the "User interface changes from After Effects CS3 to After Effects CS4" section. The purpose of that page is to help people transition from one version to the other and to help people to translate tutorials written for CS3 so that they can still be used for CS4. But a side-effect of this page is that it serves as a somewhat obsessively complete list of all of the little changes that we made (the ones that have any impact on the UI, anyway). Jeff Almasol helped a lot on this section.

Note that many links to video tutorials, other Help documents, and white papers are still not functional, and the search doesn't really work yet. And commenting isn't turned on yet. This is to be expected with an early release of the document.

TIP: Download the PDF from the upper-right corner of any Help page on the Web. The PDF is great for when you're offline or when you want to use any of Acrobat's utilities on the document. For example, you could send me an FDF file with your comments on the Help document.

To talk about After Effects CS4 and ask questions, come and join us on the After Effects user-to-user forum.

I'll post more later about how Help works differently in Creative Suite 4.

Here's a link to the new Community Help page, which we're still working on:

Some other folks have an introductory blog post about Adobe Community Help.
