The AFDKO (Adobe Font Development Kit for OpenType) tools are available only for Mac OS X and Windows, but we have heard some interest in having a Linux version as well. If you would use the AFDKO tools if a Linux version were available, or a version for some platform other than Mac OS X and Windows, please let us know, and for which environment. (Note that only binary versions would be supported for the near future, as the AFDKO tools contain some Adobe intellectual property.)

I’d rather have a GUI for OS X. I don’t know of anybody working seriously with font production on GNU/Linux. Mac is where it’s at.

I want it with GUI too. But from what I heard, Japanese font engineers want it on Linux. I think Latin won’t require switching the OS during the production, but the ones require higher level of production management will certainly benefit from, say, the Linux version.

I’d be very interested in the ability to deploy AFDKO on a Linux system.

    Yes please, for Linux.

I’d like to have it on Linux, especially on Debian based variants (Linux Mind), but imho it’s useless unless the whole Creative Suite (or at least Adobe Illustrator etc.) is available to use this systems in production :(

A Linux version would boost the production of screen fonts in these environments. Yes, please. Linux needs more and better tools for typography.
