Welcome to UK Channel News

Hello and welcome to the UK Channel News blog. My name is Mark A’Bear and I’ve recently joined Adobe as UK Education Manager. Some of you will probably know me from my time at Microsoft, but for those that don’t here’s a brief potted history of my background.

  • 13 years at Microsoft
  • 5 years in Microsoft Consulting Services
  • 8 years in the UK Education team with responsibility for partner relationships and strategy

My philosophy is that partners are crucial to the success of organisations such as Adobe. We don’t have the direct sales resources to sell into a breadth market such as UK Education and consequently our success is directly tied to your success as our partners. At Microsoft my approach was to identify and in some cases, make market opportunities that partners could take advantage of. In recent years the UK Education market has matured rapidlywith knowledgeable customers that are much more solution orientated. Cloud computing is a growing trend and education customers are now much more prepared to consider service provision in place of on-premise infrastructure. As a result the world is changing. My role at Adobe is to help partners understand the market dynamics, adapt to them and grow their businesses as a result.

The purpose of this blog is to provide Adobe partners with content that is specific to Education and consolidated from a variety of sources to save you time and effort. Typically I would expect blog posts to include information on:

  • Products
  • Solutions
  • Sales and technical training
  • Marketing opportunities
  • Partner and customer events
  • Sales resources such as case studies, battlecards, demos
  • Education market information
  • Government education initiatives e.g. Academies, University funding
  • Promotions

Let me know what else would be helpful by sending me comments.

I’d also be grateful if the blog could be passed onto colleagues to increase readership and make the effort of keeping this up-to-date worthwhile. I’ll look forward to your feedback.

Mark
