Adobe Anywhere Video Now Available

New Collaborative Platform Takes Aim at Biggest Bottlenecks in Video Production

SAN JOSE, Calif. — July 10, 2013 Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® Anywhere for video, which was initially previewed in April 2013 at the National Association of Broadcasters tradeshow (NAB).  With Adobe Anywhere, the biggest headaches in video production – massive file transfers, duplicate media, and proxy files – are a thing of the past.  Adobe Anywhere brings virtual teams of talent together, enabling them to efficiently log, edit, share and finish video productions using standard networks and hardware.

Today’s release of Adobe Anywhere supports the latest versions of Adobe Premiere® Pro CC and Adobe Prelude® CC that are available as part of Adobe Creative Cloud™. Support for Adobe After Effects® CC is expected later in 2013.

“Video production has always been challenging because it’s difficult for multiple editors to work on the same project and pass huge files back and forth across the Internet,” said Jim Guerard, vice president, Enterprise Solutions, Adobe. “With Adobe Anywhere, these hassles are gone. Team members can work together with centralized media and assets, making it possible for remote users to work jointly on a project from virtually anywhere.”

Adobe Anywhere is an enterprise-level solution that is hosted on-premise and enables production teams to collaborate smoothly and securely. Adobe Anywhere software is installed on a cluster of servers and is powered by two core components: the Adobe Anywhere Collaboration Hub and the Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine. The Adobe Collaboration Hub contains all the project information and metadata, manages user access, and allows multiple team members to access and work on the same project files simultaneously. The Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine is a key technology used across applications and provides real-time, dynamic viewing streams with GPU-accelerated effects of Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Prelude CC sequences. The Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine eliminates hours of time spent transferring or duplicating large files and provides remote team members instant access to media files from anywhere.

“With our global news-gathering capability and multiple production centers around the world, CNN moves a lot of material in support of our video journalism,” said Michael Koetter, senior vice president of Media Technology and Development at Turner Broadcasting. “Just a couple years ago, worldwide access to our content as interoperable files was a huge milestone. Our next step is to make this access transparent.  Adobe Anywhere promises to be a key technology in this strategy, allowing our journalists to seamlessly engage with content and collaborate on stories, regardless of location.”

Adobe Anywhere complements Adobe Creative Cloud applications and enables deep collaboration features for large organizations working with video, including broadcasters, educational institutions and government agencies. Adobe Creative Cloud, the company’s flagship offering for creatives, reimagines the creative process through a stunning set of “CC” desktop applications and sophisticated cross-device collaboration and publishing capabilities.  Adobe Creative Cloud provides customers with access to the latest versions of Adobe creative applications as soon as they are available.  Premiere Pro CC and Prelude CC, updated today, include 25 new features that focus on increased speed and ease of the editing process, demonstrating continued responsiveness to the needs and desires of real world editors.

Adobe AudienceResearch Delivers Accurate Audience Data for Digital Media Selling

Delivers certified Adobe SiteCatalyst metrics measuring digital audience size and engagement for websites, mobile apps and digital magazines; Sixty digital properties are already using AudienceResearch

October 20, 2011 08:05 AM Eastern Daylight Time

SAN JOSE, Calif.–(EON: Enhanced Online News)–Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® AudienceResearch, a new audience measurement tool that provides publishers and digital marketers with certified metrics on the size and engagement of digital audiences for websites, mobile applications and digital magazine editions. These key metrics are captured by Adobe SiteCatalyst®, an industry leading online analytics application, and provide publishers with the information most critical to attract advertising dollars. AudienceResearch is available at no additional cost to SiteCatalyst customers. In conjunction with AudienceResearch, the company also announced the general availability of the Adobe Audience Certification Program. Under this program, publishers become Adobe Certified Publishers, meaning Adobe has certified that their digital audience data meets certain criteria regarding the accuracy of data collection and reporting. Adobe Certified Publishers can contribute their data to the AudienceResearch tool.

“We count many of the world’s largest publishers as our customers. With this strong customer base and pent-up demand for census-based metrics, we anticipate strong adoption of AudienceResearch”

AudienceResearch provides census-based measurement of metrics, meaning that the metrics are generated by counting all relevant traffic, a method considered more accurate and representative of actual traffic and behavior than panel-based methods. Panel-based methods monitor the behavior of a small group of volunteer consumers (i.e. the panel) and then use statistics to generate estimate metrics. The statistically generated results from panel-based estimates often differ significantly from census-based results and have been a point of controversy in the advertising industry. Adobe Certified Publishers can arm their direct sales teams with these certified, census-based metrics, including metrics that have been accredited by the Media Ratings Council, and advertisers can rely on these metrics as they make media planning decisions.

“We count many of the world’s largest publishers as our customers. With this strong customer base and pent-up demand for census-based metrics, we anticipate strong adoption of AudienceResearch,” said Brad Rencher, senior vice president and general manager, Digital Marketing Business Unit, Adobe. “AudienceResearch has the potential to provide the industry with a reliable, cross-channel currency for measuring digital audience size and engagement, bringing greater confidence into the digital advertising planning, buying and selling process.”

Today’s announcement builds on Adobe achieving MRC accreditation for key SiteCatalyst metrics. To achieve accreditation, Adobe has put in place innovative methods of auditing site implementations of SiteCatalyst as well as cleansing and certifying raw site traffic, giving advertisers and publishers the most accurate view of digital audience metrics. Additionally, publishers using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to create digital magazine editions for tablet devices may elect to have their metrics automatically certified as analytics is natively built into the Digital Publishing Suite. This native integration ensures the integrity of data collection.

Become an Adobe Certified Publisher

Publishers currently using Adobe SiteCatalyst can become an Adobe Certified Publisher, which assures advertisers that the certified digital audience size and engagement metrics provided by the Adobe Certified Publisher have met certain requirements for data collection integrity and reporting accuracy. Adobe Certified Publishers can contribute these key metrics to AudienceResearch. Participation in the Adobe Audience Certification Program is complimentary for existing SiteCatalyst customers. To participate, contact an Adobe account manager.

The set-up is quick, and minimal traffic was filtered out through the accreditation process.”

Heather Idema, corporate research director, Bonnier Corporation

  • “As the digital landscape continues to rapidly advance, consumer’s expectations are revolutionizing the way publishers supply the demand for quality content. Publishers and media buyers are constantly seeking measurement solutions that provide our digital mediums with an ‘apples to apples’ comparison that is credible and simplifies audience measurement. The certification of Adobe’s syndicated platform offers us a stage to help better represent our digital venues, ultimately opening the flood gates to more business.”

Ryan Whittington, senior vice president, digital revenue at The Business Journals

  • “With the rapid increase in the consumption of digital content across mediums and on many devices, publishers face the difficult challenges of providing a unified view of the audience. We need content and measurement solutions that meet the needs of the audience however they choose to consume, which is why we’re excited to see Adobe stepping up to the challenge of simplifying digital audience measurement..”

Muse (Code Name)

Adobe’s new website creation tool allows designers to create websites without writing code.

On Monday Adobe announced the public beta of Muse (code name), software that enables graphic designers to design and publish professional, unique HTML websites without writing code or working within restrictive templates. Muse leverages the latest web standards including HTML5 and CSS3, where browser support exists, and combines precise design and creative freedom with innovative frameworks for adding navigation, widgets and HTML to include advanced interactivity on a site.

Built for Graphic Designers

Muse was built with print-designers in mind – designers who spend 80–100 percent of their time expressing ideas that end up in print – and have likely never built a website in their career.

Early feedback has also uncovered interest from cross-media and web designers, who have expressed excitement at the prospect of easily laying out a website (akin to page layout in InDesign) without having to use code.

Great customer response

If the response received by the private pre-release community is anything to go by, Muse is going to be a hit! One customer was quoted as saying, “Where has this been all my web life? Seriously!”

Similarly, a favorite quote from a press briefing was “I have to raise an objection. Kids today they won’t know how we had to walk 10 miles in the snow.”

“The ability to build websites as easily as laying out a page in InDesign is one of the most popular requests from our design customers,” says Lea Hickman, vice president of Design and Web product management at Adobe. “Those who have tested Muse are thrilled that something this intuitive yet powerful is now available.”

The goal for the beta was to have one million designers see, hear or read about Muse – in turn driving 10,000 downloads over the six month beta period. Since the announcement on Monday, almost a quarter of a million people have already visited the website and 110,000 have downloaded the beta!

The Muse beta is currently available in English, for download and use worldwide (with the exception of embargoed countries). Watch for a couple of updates before the end of the year. Version 1.0 will ship in FY’Q1 2012 in multiple languages.
