SAN JOSE, Calif. — Aug. 28, 2012 Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced a new set of Adobe® Illustrator® features exclusively to Adobe Creative Cloud™ members. These new features come ahead of the September release of new Adobe Dreamweaver® features and the addition of the Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition to Adobe Creative Cloud.

Delivering on the promise that Creative Cloud members will get early VIP access to new product features, today’s release improves productivity for designers and production artists needing fast and error-free production cycles when handing off files to colleagues, clients and service bureaus.

“When we launched Creative Cloud, we said that one of biggest benefits was early access to Adobe innovation,” said Jeff Veen, vice president of product management for Adobe Creative Cloud. “As soon as our engineering teams can finalize new features, like the ones we’re seeing for Illustrator today, we will release special Creative Cloud editions of our desktop software, only available to Adobe Creative Cloud members.”

New features in this Adobe Illustrator release include:

  • Package Files – a long-requested featurethat allows designers to automatically collect all the files used in an Illustrator project, including linked graphics and fonts, into a single folder helping make handoffs and sharing of projects more efficient and error-free.
  • Unembed Images – a new capability that enables production artists to quickly unembed images that have been embedded into an Illustrator file by other designers or customers, eliminating much wasted time in day-to-day production work.
  • Links Panel Enhancements – a new feature enhancement that allows users to access and track information on any artwork placed in an Illustrator file much quicker. What used to require multiple clicks to ensure all placed graphics meet necessary requirements for output is now surfaced up front.

Coming in September will also be the addition of the Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition for publishing brochures, portfolios and highly visual books as apps for Apple iPad, as well as the exclusive delivery to Creative Cloud members of new features for Adobe Dreamweaver. We’re tremendously excited to announce that our latest version of Adobe Connect Mobile, version 2.0, is now available for iOS and Android devices!

With the realities of today’s business environments where employees and customers are on the move worldwide, it’s not practical to expect that opportunities to collaborate or train only arise while in the office or at a desk. An effective web conferencing solution needs to provide users with the flexibility to not just participate in meetings, but to fully host, collaborate, and drive meetings from their mobile device.  It needs to enable trainers to not just provide learner access from any device, but also deliver that training from a mobile device.

With this in mind, we bring you Adobe Connect Mobile 2.0, offering meeting hosts and participants complete confidence to engage in web meetings, webinars, and virtual classrooms on the move using iOS or Android devices. We’ve extended many of the capabilities of previous releases with powerful new features, particularly on tablets. For example:

Complete meeting administration

In addition to existing hosting controls (begin/end meetings, manage attendance, manage attendee roles – Host, Presenter, or Participant, etc.), hosts can now fully control meeting recordings, audio conferencing, and video.

Share content from the cloud or device

Share presentations, videos, images and other content stored in your library in the cloud; in the image library; or on the device drive* itself (*Android).

Enhanced presentation controls and interactivity

In addition to existing presentation controls (presenting content, advancing slides, taking shared notes, running polls, etc.), hosts can now whiteboard with the tip of a finger, change layouts, and foster interaction with a range of emoticons.

Adobe Connect Mobile 2.0 is now available for free download on iTunes Preview here, and the Google Play Store here.

The app supports the following devices and operating systems:

Apple:

-               Devices: iPad, iPad2, iPad3; iPhone 4 and 4 S, iPod touch (3rd generation minimum recommended)

Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4 software provides a comprehensive set of digital photography tools, from powerfully simple one-click adjustments to cutting-edge advanced controls. Create images that inspire, inform, and delight.

Innovative Shadow and Highlight Recovery and Enhanced Digital Photography Workflows Mark A Milestone Release

SAN JOSE, Calif. — March 6, 2012 Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the availability of Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4 software for Mac OS and Windows. Lightroom is the essential digital photography workflow solution helping amateur and professional photographers quickly import, manage, enhance and showcase their images. First released as a public beta in January 2012, the final version of Lightroom 4 is now available for education customers. Lightroom 4 introduces refined technology for superior shadow and highlight processing, ability to create photo books, additional local adjustment controls, and enhanced video support.

“Feedback from our customers is invaluable in developing Lightroom and the real trick to a great release is to combine these insights with Adobe’s unrivalled image processing innovation,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, Creative Media Solutions, Adobe. “Lightroom 4 is a stunning new release that will enhance photography workflows and help photographs stand out from the crowd.”

New Features in Lightroom 4
Lightroom 4 is a major release, adding significant new capabilities and innovations. New adjustment controls maximize dynamic range from cameras, recovering exceptional shadow details and highlights. The software features new and improved auto adjustments to dynamically set values for exposure and contrast, and additional local adjustment controls including Noise Reduction, Moire and White Balance.

Lightroom 4 provides photographers the tools to create beautiful photo books with text controls and a variety of easy-to-use templates, as well as a direct link for photo book creation from within the new Book module. A new intuitive Map module displays images already assigned a location, provides location tagging and reverse geo-tagging controls and saved locations for easy assignment of a photographer’s common locations.

Now, native video support gives photographers the capability to play, trim and extract frames from video clips shot on DSLRs, point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones. Video-specific presets and many standard Lightroom image adjustment controls can be applied to video clips, and adjusted videos can be exported as a H.264 file or published directly to Facebook or Flickr*.

In the Develop module, presets fully utilize new processing technology and the addition of soft proofing helps photographers tune images in a destination color space to ensure content looks its best. In addition, customers can now email images directly from Lightroom using an email account of their choice.

The new Object Search makes finding photos based on what is in them as easy as drawing a box around the object – from a landmark to a pet. Also, to keep an entire collection of photos organized and clutter free, the new ability to search for duplicate photos helps users quickly group and delete photos they don’t need.

Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 users can purchase Adobe’s integrated online services Elements Plus, which includes 20GB of storage for automatic online backup and sharing (up to 15,000 photos or four hours of DVD-quality video), as well as access to an extensive library of how-to’s, artwork, templates, movie themes and effects.‡

Muse (Code Name)

Adobe’s new website creation tool allows designers to create websites without writing code.

On Monday Adobe announced the public beta of Muse (code name), software that enables graphic designers to design and publish professional, unique HTML websites without writing code or working within restrictive templates. Muse leverages the latest web standards including HTML5 and CSS3, where browser support exists, and combines precise design and creative freedom with innovative frameworks for adding navigation, widgets and HTML to include advanced interactivity on a site.

Built for Graphic Designers

Muse was built with print-designers in mind – designers who spend 80–100 percent of their time expressing ideas that end up in print – and have likely never built a website in their career.

Early feedback has also uncovered interest from cross-media and web designers, who have expressed excitement at the prospect of easily laying out a website (akin to page layout in InDesign) without having to use code.

Great customer response

If the response received by the private pre-release community is anything to go by, Muse is going to be a hit! One customer was quoted as saying, “Where has this been all my web life? Seriously!”

Similarly, a favorite quote from a press briefing was “I have to raise an objection. Kids today they won’t know how we had to walk 10 miles in the snow.”

“The ability to build websites as easily as laying out a page in InDesign is one of the most popular requests from our design customers,” says Lea Hickman, vice president of Design and Web product management at Adobe. “Those who have tested Muse are thrilled that something this intuitive yet powerful is now available.”

The goal for the beta was to have one million designers see, hear or read about Muse – in turn driving 10,000 downloads over the six month beta period. Since the announcement on Monday, almost a quarter of a million people have already visited the website and 110,000 have downloaded the beta!

 Availability

The Muse beta is currently available in English, for download and use worldwide (with the exception of embargoed countries). Watch for a couple of updates before the end of the year. Version 1.0 will ship in FY’Q1 2012 in multiple languages.
