The World Behind the Glass

The World has Changed

For those of us raised on duck and cover drills in grammar school during the cold war and who remember being told by radio and tv announcers to not play in the snow because Chinese nuclear weapons testing might have made it radioactive, the world has a definite new feel to it sometimes.

The other day I was listening to NPR and heard them report that the US has suggested that Iran can have a nuclear power program as long as they allow a trusted third nation to perform the final processing that could result in weapons grade material. The US suggested that the trusted third party nation be Russia.

The world has certainly changed!

I come to this site to learn about what's happening in the world of Photoshop and Adobe. It’s disappointing to find off topic geo-political commentary. There are other sites for that purpose.

You can, indeed learn what's happening in the world of Photoshop and Adobe here. There are many Adobe folks who are blogging about new releases and new features on all our products.

I do not work with specific products, so I keep my blog oriented more toward sociological issues that I notice revolving around software and information technology. How we use this new stuff in our world.

For me, at least, that also involves observing how the world changes...sometimes in response to what we do in this industry, sometimes in spite of it and sometimes without regard to it. Hence, my entry about Associative Memory a while back and this one about how I repsonded viscerally to a simple bit of news.

For pure information about the state of Adobe and its products and services, I would suggest just about any of the OTHER blogs here. World Behind the Glass, however, is about lots of other things.

Sorry you were disappointed, but thanks for writing anyway.

Regards
Bill
