MEET THE HOST: John Cornicello

150113_cornicello_8291-EditJohn Cornicello has been involved with photography since the 1970s. He started his professional life as a large format product and advertising photographer in New York. With the advent of the Personal Computer he switched professions for a few years to do design and typography (anyone remember PageMaker?), then moonlighted for almost 20 years at a software company called Adobe. At Adobe, John managed the community forums until he quote, ‘retired,’ unquote in 2014 to go back full time into photography, where he now specializes in portraits and head-shots. You might also recognize him from the online educational world of CreativeLive, where he has taught, been lighting tech and assistant for many of their classes.

John is more of a Lightroom person than Photoshop. He says, if he can’t finish a photo in Lightroom he has failed as a photographer. For John, Photoshop work is more about special effects and portrait retouching.
