Adobe & Community

Get Inspired. Get Involved. Volunteer.

May 4, 2011

It’s that time of year again! Community Action Week is Adobe’s annual global volunteer initiative where employees at sites all over the world show how much we care and embody our “involved” core value. Adobe’s Community Action Week takes place this week, May 2 – 6, in North America and May 23 – 27 at Adobe international sites. Employees have the opportunity to participate in more than 50 different volunteer initiatives including sorting food at the local food bank, painting a green screen at an Adobe Youth Voices school, or assembling care kits for homeless children. We realize that just a little bit of our time can have a big impact in local organizations. Although volunteering happens year round at Adobe, employees look forward to Community Action Week as a great way for teams across the company to take some time away from work to come together to share the Adobe spirit of generosity and volunteerism.

Last year nearly 1,000 Adobe volunteers gave 2,500 hours to the communities where we live and work across the globe.

Beyond Community Action Week
Community Action Week activities are just a sample of all the great activities that happen throughout the year. Adobe has contributed over $57 million (2010) in community giving and we have a variety of programs that encourage employees to volunteer in our communities. These include:
• Dollars for Doers program – Adobe donates $125 for every 10 hours employees volunteer at a nonprofit organization.
• Adobe Youth Voices – Adobe Foundation’s global signature philanthropy program designed to provide youth in underserved communities with the critical skills they need to become active and engaged members of their communities and the world at large. There are opportunities to edit and review submissions. In August, employees will have an opportunity to participate as an event or content expert volunteer for the AYV Summit.
• Matching Gift Program – The Matching Gift Program supports individual contributions to qualified nonprofit organizations and schools. Adobe matches employee donations up to a maximum of US$5,000 per employee, per calendar year.
• Employee Software Purchase Donation Program – Adobe offers this program for K-12 Schools, whereby U.S. employees can purchase up to 30 products (at a reduced rate) to donate to local schools.
