Demystifying Captivate–LMS integration


Learning Management Systems (LMS) help you administer, track monitor, and report users’ interactions with your courses. Adobe Captivate lets you create SCORM-and-AICC-compliant courses that you can deploy on various LMSs.

This blog post summarizes the steps involved in making your Captivate courses work with LMSs.

Step 1. Configure your Captivate projects for your LMS

 Here’s a video tutorial (3:25) that shows how to configure a project for the SCORM cloud LMS:

In this comprehensive guide, Rod collates the recommended settings for different types of LMSs and supplements them with other useful information such as links to forum threads and practical tips from other users.

Step 2. Publish your projects in the format that is supported by your LMS

Most LMSs support ZIP, EXE, and MP4 formats. Refer to the documentation of your LMS on the supported formats.

See the last part of the above video (2:07 onwards) to see a demonstration of publishing Captivate projects as ZIP files for the SCORM cloud LMS.

Step 3. Upload it to your LMS

This video (2:31) shows how to upload a Captivate project output (ZIP file) to the SCORM cloud LMS:

    what about AICC, you only show SCORM? I’m getting a blank screen when publishing to AICC
