Adobe & FEED introduce the Make It Challenge

Adobe & FEEDAs design plays an increasingly important role in business, we’re seeing a new breed of entrepreneurs emerge: those who put design at the heart of their product and business strategy and couple it with a desire to profoundly impact the world at large. These new businesses are taking on some of the biggest global challenges by providing human necessities – clothing, education, and nourishment – as an integral part of the products they develop. With this in mind, we’re proud to be working with FEED, a social business taking a design-led approach to helping end global hunger. FEED’s mission is to create good products that help feed the world, and today we announce the ‘Make It Challenge: FEED’ – a call to our creative community to design their holiday campaign and help build upon the 87 million meals FEED has been able to provide to thus far to children and families here in the U.S. and abroad.

We are seeking talented creatives to apply for a unique seven-day challenge. Three teams of art directors and copywriters, along with support from a photographer and producer, will have three days to develop and pitch a campaign concept. These teams will be coached by acclaimed creative Michael Ventura, CEO of Sub Rosa. The challenge will culminate in a presentation to FEED’s CEO and Founder Lauren Bush Lauren, Adobe executives, and other high-profile creative leaders. The winning concept will immediately be produced as FEED’s 2015 holiday campaign.

The challenge begins on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Sub Rosa HQ in NYC. Apply for the open art director, copywriter, graphic designer and photographer roles by Friday, August 14. Those selected will be compensated and hosted in NYC during the challenge and the entire experience will be documented and recorded as part of a series of videos telling the story of the campaign’s development from beginning to end.

We are excited to help advance FEED’s mission by working together with them, our community, and Sub Rosa on this project. After all, as the African proverb eloquently states, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’

Karl Isaac

Karl Isaac oversees Adobe’s brand strategy and innovation group, managing Adobe’s corporate, product, solution, and hardware brands as well as environmental and acquisition branding. He also leads Adobe’s brand and marketing innovation program and serves as a key brand evangelist and leader within the company. During his career, Karl has led branding and marketing for some of the world’s most recognized brands and has worked in client and agency-side roles at Microsoft, Apple, Razorfish, and Landor. He started his career as a designer in NYC, LA, and SF. Karl teaches Account Planning at Miami Ad School in SF and studied design at Hampshire College. He earned a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA and holds an MBA from Duke University where he focused on high tech marketing.
