Adobe Announces Winners of the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards

ADAA13_4766Adobe, in collaboration with Icograda (International Council of Communication Design), hosted its 13th annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) ceremony last night at Hotel Affinia Manhattan in NYC. During the event, 11 higher education students were named the 2013 Category Winners out of which three students were named 2013 Grand Prize Media Segment Winners. This is quite an honor as over 3,750 projects were submitted spanning across 55 countries!

The panel of judges chose student winners in 11 categories of artistic design and technology. Winning entries were honored for their creative originality, effectiveness, and the students’ skill in applying Adobe products. One of the judges, Harry Pearce, partner at Pentagram U.K. commented: “I think the idea of having such a diverse group of judges from both different cultures and different design disciplines gives a real credence to the Awards. It’s fascinating to see the breadth of work, diversity, and largely, the quality of all the entries.” You can view additional judging commentary here.

ADAA winner, Marc Nonnenmacher, first achieved finalist status in 2010 for his work, Kausalkomplexe. This year, Marc returned victorious, winning the 2013 Installation category for his work entitled Causal Timelines. When accepting his award, Nonnenmacher admitted that his friends helped him by “lending me their ear, and allowing me to discuss my ideas with them. And I owe so much to my professors for supporting me and inspiring me.”
