Update on OS support for next major release of Photoshop

In order to leverage the latest operating system features and technologies, the next major release of Photoshop CC will require Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or above.

Customers running older versions of Mac OS X, such as 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion), can continue to run and install the current Creative Cloud applications, but will not be able to install or run the next major release of Photoshop until they upgrade to a supported version of OS X. Apple provides a free update to the latest version of OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).

Creative Cloud Desktop will continue to be supported on OS X 10.7 (Lion) and above.

The next major release of Lightroom currently plans to support OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and above.

Focusing our work on more modern operating systems and architectures allows us to spend more time adding functionality requested by users, including additional advanced imaging features and improving general application performance.

Our team hopes that by providing this information early it will help you understand our current decisions around operating system support and where we are headed with future releases of Photoshop. We encourage all customers who are currently using an older version of OS X to begin making their migration plans now so they can fully take advantage of future Photoshop & Lightroom innovations as soon as they are available.

I am switching back over to Win10 when it comes out this summer. Will there be any special features available to Win10 users?
