After Effects CC 2015 (13.7.2) bug-fix update available; fixes RED import on Mac OS X

The After Effects CC 2015 (13.7.2) bug-fix update is now available. This update fixes a bug that occurred in After Effects CC 2015 (13.7.1) on Mac OS X: RED (.r3d) files can again be imported, and are not reported as missing in existing projects.

This update is for Mac OS X only and is not available for Windows, because the bug with RED files did not occur on Windows. The most recent update for After Effects on Windows is After Effects CC 2015 (13.7.1).

You can install the update through the Creative Cloud desktop application, or you can check for new updates from within any Adobe application by choosing Help > Updates. Please note that it can take 24 hours or more for all of our global data centers to receive the update; if the update isn’t available for you right now, please check back later.

For details of all of past updates for After Effects and other Adobe professional video and audio applications, see this page.

Please, if you want to ask questions about this update, come on over to the After Effects user-to-user forum, rather than leaving comments on this blog post. (It’s much harder to have conversations in the comments of a blog post.) If you’d like to submit feature requests or bug reports, you can do so here.

    Hi Adobe,

Could you please fix the following bug, it’s causing me serious headaches and I’ve noticed multiple users are experiencing this problem on different platforms.

The bug has to do with duplicated AE comps that are imported into Premiere (via replacing footage) and rendered via Adobe Media Encoder. This media renders offline (while previewed in Premiere just fine).

The steps to reproduce the bug:

    Open AE, PP, and AME
    Make a composition in AE
Drag comp to Premiere (Dynamic Link)
Use that comp in a timeline.
Ctrl-M (Export) to AME queue (This renders okay)
In AE, duplicate the comp previously made
Drag that new comp to Premiere (Dynamic Link)
Replace that new comp in place of the old comp in the previously created timeline.
Ctrl-M (Export) to AME queue (This renders “Media Offline”)

Hopefully you will be able to fix this bug, and I’ll be forever grateful!

    With kind regards,

I cannot open After Effects on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan.

I have downloaded the 11.0.4 Update from Adobe’s site:

However I am unable to successfully install it. Instead, I receive a message the update failed with a link to an error log.
When I follow the link, I receive the following:

Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.4) update
Another instance of deployment is already running. Error Code: U44M2P11

I am an Associate Professor with a university purchased license for this software which I need to teach in class.

Please let me know there is a fix!

    Thanks in advance….
