Creative Spotlight: Mike Harrison
We first noticed the wonderful digital artwork of London-based designer Mike Harrison popping up on various design blogs. We were immediately intrigued by his mix of photography, graphic design and vivid colors. Mike has worked as a freelancer for a number of high-profile athletics companies, and is a member of the international modern art collective, Depthcore, and the Keystone Design Union.
Check out some of Mike’s work and find out what he has planned for future projects, below.
Creative Layer: How have Adobe products played a role in your career?
Mike Harrison: I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today, and have a career in the creative industry, without Adobe products. The two [products] I use most are Photoshop and Illustrator, but I have experience in others such as After Effects and Dreamweaver due to my desire to try my hand at as many disciplines as possible.
I use the software pretty much every day; it’s part of my life now and will continue to be for the rest of my life. Whether I’m working on a tight deadline on a client project or simply just having some fun messing around with photos for my friends, Photoshop gives me that fun factor whilst delivering the flexibility, speed and features I need when it counts.
What are your upcoming plans for 2012?
2012 promises to be a very exciting year for me. I’ve already been quite productive on both personal and commercial work and am excited to share that soon. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with an exciting new agency that has big plans for this year. I can’t say too much at the moment but all will be revealed soon!
Apart from that I’m working on various projects from web design to illustration while continuing to develop my work and try out new things on a regular basis. Stay tuned to my blog and my site for updates soon!
