Exclusive Dreamweaver features only for Creative Cloud members

One of the best things about being a Creative Cloud member is getting early access to exclusive features, like the three Illustrator features we announced last month. Today, we’re announcing six Dreamweaver features exclusively for Creative Cloud members and Dreamweaver subscribers. These features give you the ability to easily add HTML5 tags, audio, video and Adobe Edge Animate compositions to your projects, and quickly find files with real-time search results on Mac OS. To learn more, check out this video.

To get these features, just open Dreamweaver, go to the main menu, choose Help > Updates or download Dreamweaver for the first time here.

If you aren’t a Creative Cloud member, or are signed up for the free Creative Cloud membership and want access to these Dreamweaver features, you can become a paid member here. Current Creative Suite customers can join Creative Cloud and get 40% off their first year of membership, and pay just US$29.99 per month for the first 12 months. See if you qualify.

On the Dreamweaver Facebook page today there is an announcement for some major new HTML5 features for DW CS6. But they are for Cloud members only? Will these updates be available for non-Cloud members as well soon? I have updated each version of Dreamweaver products for over ten years. Please tell me these new features will be available for me as well soon. And when will that be?

    Thank you,

    Bernie C

PS… here is the link to the Facebook announcement:

This still does not work. I am a member and no updates are available for Dreamweaver CS6. I need these to work soon please!

My fault. My CS6 needed deactivation before these features were available. Thanks for the quick help Adobe Team. I wouldn’t have thought of deactivation. I love my new Dreamweaver and Illustrator features now.

Nice integration with Adobe Edge Tool & Service. I have no doubt that we’re going on the Cloud seriously.

No updates available in Dreamweaver – where is it?

I am having a problem getting started with the Business Catalyst app. The dialog box for signing in keeps popping up. Even though I have already signed in to Creative Cloud.

Previously I was on the 30 day trial for the Master Collection, so I don’t know if there is any conflict with the Creative Cloud.

I am a retired teacher who uses Cs6 as a hobby. I am on a limited budget where monthly payments are to costly.

Just completed a long survey from Adobe with the emphasis on moving away from software and moving to the Cloud format. This will price the hobbiest out of the market just like the mandatory upgrade for each new version of Photoshop. I might be stuck in CS6 for ever.

    Great new features!!!

Bad idea to kill my color icons!!!

The above post reads “New tools & services for a beautiful, modern web”. So a beautiful, modern web doesn’t deserve beautiful tools? Dreamweaver has a light gray interface. Someone thought it was a good idea to replace the color insert toolbar icons with light gray icons, and then deny me the option to turn color icons back on. Light gray icons over a light gray interface are not beautiful – they’re drab, and they impede my workflow.

    This is what I have:
    This is what I prefer:

How do I turn color icons back on for Dreamweaver? If you don’t have a mechanism for that, then please provide a ZIP download of the new color icons, and I’ll install them myself.

  • By Web Magi - 12:16 AM on September 28, 2012

I found a workaround. For now at least, my color icons are back.

I am still interested in hearing your thoughts on the subject.

I have been a long-time buyer of Dreamweaver, adopting each new version and upgrades as they came out. I was particularly interested when DW started providing extensive support for HTML 5. And now, I just discovered that people who would rather invest in and own a few Adobe software rather than buying into the Creative Cloud, have only access to part of the features in place for DW users, splitting this once comprehensive tool into two versions, basic and premium. Aren’t those who bought and continue to buy the full license of DW deserving of the full software? Does Adobe want to alienate their costumer base by forcing them into the Cloud in order to get a product that supports the industry standards?
Please, think before you invest in this software as you may discover that your yearly licensing fees have made you a second rated Adobe client. That is why I gave an overall rating of poor to this once solid software. And to the Adobe engineers, please do not let pure marketing concerns alienate customers who have been loyal and long-time supporters of your product. If you want to promote adoption of the Creative Cloud, great. Do it by providing access to software that is specific to the cloud, but not by creating an expensive basic version of the software and an even more expensive premium version that requires a yearly membership.

I totally agree with your comment. People who invested in the expensive CS6 Dreamweaver software should get ALL the features of it. This has me considering other non-Adobe products and I still teach at the University and all my students will be required to use something else if this unfair practice continues!!

You’re about to install Touch App Plugins

First, the Adobe Application Manager will download

It lets you download every app available on Creative Cloud straight to your desktop.

Your browser may ask you to accept the download

    Save the AdobeApplicationManager.exe file

    Go to your downloads folder

Find the AdobeApplicationManager.exe and open it to start installation

I feel like adobe turned their back on master collection owners. I have owned (and upgraded) every master collection made by adobe… thousands and thousands of loyalty dollars…. and what do they do? they offer exclusive benifits to people that dont own thier “master collection”…. Maybe they should call it the “Bastard Collection” … the fatherless unsupported collection.

So having purchased CS6 in 2012 (and CS5.5 before that, and other Adobe products since 1992) I now have to purchase in addition a membership to CC in order to get “special” upgrades that are still a part of CS6? What a monumental rip-off!!!

I agree with Conrad. The “Bastard Collection.”

What do we get…Nothing? Thanks for making us feel so good. Your treating us like we are undeserving of these features. This will probably be the last adobe product that I purchase

  • By scott - 4:28 AM on May 16, 2013
