Introducing the 2016 Adobe MAX Insiders
We’re excited to introduce this inspiring group of creatives from around the world that we’ve invited to be this year’s Adobe MAX Insiders program. Acting as the eyes and ears of community members who aren’t able to join us in San Diego, the MAX Insiders will be getting social, sharing their experience from keynote sessions, sneaks, and even some behind-the-scenes access to events.

Sha’an d’Anthes is an illustrator, whose obsession with storytelling began as a child. As a teenager, Sha’an began creating work under the pseudonym, Furry Little Peach, which she’s since grown into a brand that has garnered an audience of hundreds of thousands worldwide. Sha’an works predominantly with watercolors to create imagery that is playful and full of whimsy – with nature, childhood and nostalgia as key themes.
After receiving her BFA in Fine Art from School of Visual Arts (New York) in 2010, Frankie moved back to Tokyo where she currently resides. Her works range from painting on canvas to making murals on building exteriors, pushing boundaries that allow her to exhibit work in both gallery and street environments. She has also collaborated on corporate projects with TOMS, MINI Cooper, and Microsoft.

Summoned by an ancient blood ritual, Mike Diva is the Director/VFX artist of whom the prophecies foretold. Over the past 10 years Mike has directed a variety of award winning music videos, shorts, and commercials for brands like Verizon, Brisk, and EA. His unique visual style and surreal humor has gained him a sizable fan base with over 250,000 subscribers and 32 million views on his YouTube channel.
Growing up in Ghana, Gyimah discovered his love of drawing while bringing his favorite cartoon characters to life. His distinct style has been praised by everyone from Rihanna to Forbes magazine, who named him one of “15 Young African Creatives Rebranding Africa” in 2015. Gyimah’s career started before he graduated from Sheridan College, when he joined the character design team for Black Dynamite. Since then, he has worked on a variety of hit shows including Stephen Universe and Justin Time, where he was the lead character designer.
André started with photography 6 years ago and is now doing projects for companies like Mercedes Benz, Nike and tourism boards around the world. He does his best to catch moments of a certain mood with natural light in his work, and travels as much as he can to do so. In the winter of 2015, André released his first book “us,” which covers his road trips through France, Spain and Portugal. He’s a big fan of beer, wine, and pizza.

Karen Kavett is a YouTuber, crafter, and graphic designer. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she spends her days creating videos for YouTube, both as a DIY Crafter for HGTV Handmade and Duck Brand, and as the host of her own popular channel which focuses on graphic design and crafting. Karen also does freelance graphic design and video editing work for clients including HGTV and John Green. As if she wasn’t busy enough, she also sells a line of handmade ampersand-inspired jewelry on DFTBA.com.
Emi Kusano first started off as a photographer from the age of 17, mainly taking fashion photographs. Soon later Emi established a company at the age of 21, producing apps for the public. By 2012 Kusano spreads her career line a little further by becoming a main mc for [Magnet Girl Radio] on Shibuya FM, while also working as a photographer on the side holding a gallery at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She takes it even further by starting activities as a singer songwriter by the name Satellite Young, creating 80’s electro pop tunes. She is also a creative planner of an advertising agency and mother of a 4-year-old boy.

Dan Mumford is a freelance illustrator working out of Studio100. Over the past 10 years, Dan has worked within the pop culture and music scene creating everything from album covers, branding and screen prints to new interpretations of classic film posters and albums. Clients include Disney, Sony, Iron Maiden, Wizards of the Coast, Icon Motoports, CBS and many many bands and record labels from around the world.
Gemma O’Brien is an Australian artist specializing in lettering, illustration and typography. After completing a Bachelor of Design, Gemma worked as an art director at Animal Logic and Fuel VFX before deciding to fly solo as a commercial illustrator in 2012. She splits her time between advertising commissions, gallery shows, speaking engagements, and hosting hand-lettering workshops around the world.

Dann is a pro surfer (web), full-time design freelancer, and the host of Epicurrence.com and Montues.com.
Andreas Preis is a designer, illustrator and artist. His skill set includes illustration, murals, tape art and live paintings as well as the different areas of traditional communications design like typography, logo design, icon design and art direction. During the last few years he’s worked with a variety of brands, including adidas, Coke, DC Comics, ESPN, Telekom, NIKE, Vans, and more.

Victoria Siemer, also known as Witchoria, is a visual artist. She works predominantly in the digital realm, creating surreal photo manipulations that reflect her penchant for ennui, existential crisis, and heartbreak. Her work has been featured in a variety of digital publications including Wired, Juxtapoz, Huffington Post, and Business Insider.
Elise has always loved art, science and math. After receiving her education at Columbia College Chicago, she decided to make it a full-time profession as a freelance artist specializing in photography and design. Elise has spoken at the Apple Store on Magnificent Mile, is an Adobe Make It artist, and has been featured by Vice with Canon. She has done projects with Adidas, Jordan Brand, GreenLabel, Dos Equis, Beats by Dre and many more.
Ben Von Wong
Motivated by the desire to be creatively challenged and overcome impossibilities, Benjamin Von Wong has become notorious for his epic photography. His hyper-realistic art style captures viewers in a fusion of special effects and innovative concepts. Benjamin’s background in engineering gives him a unique edge for creative problem solving, where technical challenges become friendly competition. He is currently focused on conservation and social impact-related projects.
Michael Wong is the founder of design studio Mizko Media. After years of experience across global digital corporations, he has made his services available to all startups through his design studio. From there, his team is also building and launching a number of in-house tools for creatives. Michael’s works and clients have also been featured in some of the most renowned design and technology publications; including TechCrunch, The Next Web, StartUpSmart and more.
Nicole S. Young
Nicole is a photographer, author, and educator, who spends her days creating videos, articles, eBooks, and other photography resources for her website, Nicolesy. She photographs a variety of subjects and specializes in food and landscape photography. Nicole is a U.S. Navy veteran, and in 2008, she transitioned from military life to build her own successful photography business.
Sundance Ignite Fellows
Joining our group of MAX Insiders are the five Sundance Ignite “What’s Next?” challenge winners. Supported by Adobe Project 1324, this group of emerging filmmakers are honing their craft to push society forward with their work. Get to know more about these inspiring creatives and watch their films.
