Live Event: Create With Jason Seiler
Jason Seiler paints both traditionally and digitally. But no matter the medium, his skill and his ability to capture the essence of a person have landed his paintings on the covers of Rolling Stone, Billboard, Time, and many other publications.
While he frequently works in a caricature style, much of his portraiture might be described as “better than lifelike”—Seiler finds and draws out the things that make his subjects unique. He says, “I just like to capture people and draw them how I want to draw them, in my way. So it’s a little bit exaggerated and there’s a lot of character, but then it’s very realistically painted…. There’s just way more to actually capturing the likeness and the character of the person…. It has to do with their essence.”
In this hour-long live session, Jason will discuss how he finds a person’s essence and brings a two-dimensional image to vivid life. In a conversation that all participants will be welcome to join, he’ll also talk about the life of an editorial illustrator and show how he works in Adobe Photoshop CC.
