SpeedGrade CS6 (6.0.1) Update

Today, the SpeedGrade CS6 (6.0.1) update was released. Thank you to everyone for your feedback since the launch of SpeedGrade CS6 last month!

If Adobe Application Manager hasn’t already told you about this, go ahead and check for new updates by choosing Help > Updates. The best way to check for updates is by closing all Adobe applications other than Adobe Bridge, and choosing Help > Updates in Adobe Bridge; this ensures that all processes related to Adobe video applications have been quit and can be updated safely.

Ideally, you should install the updates automatically as described above, but you can also directly download the update packages from the download page for Windows or Mac OS.

For information about updates for other Adobe professional video applications, see this page.

This blog post is for information purposes and not technical discussion. If you have questions or difficulties with this update, please come by the  SpeedGrade forum where we can help!

  • […] SpeedGrade CS6 (6.0.1) update […]

  • By Doug Lawhead - 5:07 PM on June 7, 2012

Would it kill Adobe to provide a link to the update? Can’t find it and I need to build update packages for a lab that has updates disabled.

    • By Eric Philpott - 1:51 PM on June 11, 2012

      Hi Doug,

No, it would not kill us! We had a technical glitch on our site the day the patch was posted. You can go to the SpeedGrade CS6.0.1 download for Mac OS now. The Windows download page will be available shortly.

  • By Doug Lawhead - 5:11 PM on June 7, 2012

    Specifically… the Mac update.

  • By cb - 7:06 PM on June 7, 2012

“Compatibility fix: The NTSC presets now use 720 x 480 resolution (instead of 720 x 486).”

    I hope both are there.

just like after effects there should be 720×480 (DV) and 720×486 (D1)

    • By Eric Philpott - 4:58 PM on June 11, 2012

      Hi Chris,

You can go in an add your own custom settings to give you NTSC D1.

Visit the SpeedGrade forums if you need help with that!

really so hard to give a link to the update?

-) i’ve installed application manager, but it didn’t give me a hint where to update
-) within speedgrade, there is no help > updates>

I really sometimes think that people are making magic out of everything…

    • By Eric Philpott - 1:27 PM on June 11, 2012

      Hi Kevlar,

The best way to access CS6 updates is by closing all Adobe applications other than Adobe Bridge. Choose Help > Updates in Adobe Bridge. This ensures that all processes related to Adobe video applications have been quit and can be updated safely.

You can also download updates manually for Mac OS. The SpeedGrade CS6.0.1 manual update link will be available soon.

I wonder if Speedgrade will have tracker options as good as Resolve, because that’s one of Resolve’s best features.

    • By Eric Philpott - 3:40 AM on June 15, 2012

      Hi Joe,

We can’t comment directly on future plans, but we really love to get your input. Submit feature requests here, or share your ideas on the the SpeedGrade forum. Thanks!
