With the holiday season fast approaching, Adobe Digital Insights spoke to over 5,000 consumers across the globe about their Christmas retail habits to determine what, where and how they intend to shop this year. The results? Record spending is on the cards for Britons, with the UK shoppers we spoke to estimating an average budget of £1,963, over half of which will be online.
So how can retailers secure a slice of holiday spending? The research revealed that it’s all about the experience, which matters more at Christmas than any other time of year. The challenge for retailers is to ensure that the Christmas shopping experience stacks up with the other experiences consumers partake in during this special time, from festive celebrations with family, friends and colleagues, to gift giving and receiving.
