The SF Giants have some incredible fans, that’s for sure. And us fans can make a huge difference online. Using Adobe Social, within the Adobe Marketing Cloud, the San Francisco Giants and Adobe teamed up to take a look at how social media is being used at the games, by the players and the fans. What did we learn? The #SFGiants create a lot of social buzz. infographic The data from the infographic above came from various sources within Adobe Social. We broke out the data into two segments: what happened inside AT&T Park and what happened outside of AT&T Park. In Park data was collected using a “bounding box” made up of geographic coordinates that were placed around AT&T Park. This box captured every Tweet that was made within those coordinates. Out of Park data was collected by listening to all mentions of @SFGiants, any mentions of any Giants players and all Tweets the Giants players sent. Adobe Social helps to make sense of all the data. We created very specific listening rules to filter out the noise and hone in on the information we were looking for. There is so much conversation on social; Adobe Social allowed us to create rules that only returned the most important and actionable results. To top that, we were able to analyze the data in real time. This is great for marketers like the Giants who live for the live events. You can see the conversation happening, who’s being talked about, what they’re posting and where they are, right when it matters.
