Last week was a big week at Adobe. We started by announcing the availability of Adobe Document Cloud and then headed immediately into the Apttus Accelerate conference in San Francisco. We were thrilled to premiere our eSign services (formerly Adobe EchoSign) to Apttus attendees who had “quote-to-cash” solutions on the brain–encouraging them to dunk paper documents and go digital with e-signatures. (Unfortunately, keynote speaker and basketball legend Magic Johnson didn’t stop by our booth for a shootout, though we had an open invitation.)
Adobe eSign Services and Apttus
Over the seven years that Adobe has been a partner with Apttus, we’ve worked together to streamline the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and Configuration, Price, & Quote (CPQ) processes. Our eSign services are natively built on the Salesforce1 platform, and the Document Cloud technology is integrated into Apttus CLM and CPQ solutions. Apttus users can easily send documents for e-signature and track approvals directly from within the solutions they already use. With little to no training required, approvers can easily sign contracts from anywhere without learning or installing new software.
The Document Disconnect
In Accelerate’s opening keynote, VP of Document Solutions, Mark Grilli introduced Adobe Document Cloud alongside recent findings exposing a “Document Disconnect” in business. The research from IDC told a tale of internal paper processes that cost businesses money and resources. Mark explained to over 1,500+ Apttus attendees that solving their disconnect could yield a 36 percent increase in revenue, a 30 percent reduction in cost and a 23 percent reduction in compliance risk.
Lise Croft, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Adobe, also shared statistics from IDC’s research in two Accelerate sessions. Lisa emphasized the negative impact of cumbersome paperwork on customers, with 63% of business leaders saying customer satisfaction is hurt by paper processes.
Dunk Your Documents
Internally and externally, paper is a losing game for business. On the Accelerate Expo Floor, our team challenged the crowds to say ‘bye-bye’ to paper with a good old game of paper toss. Attendees channeled their frustrations with outdated paper processes by crumpling up a document and sending it to the recycling bin. Participants received a custom Adobe Document Cloud mini-hoop for practice at the office.
If you couldn’t join us in person at Apttus Accelerate or Ariba Live, you can still dunk your documents for a prize of your own. We are now encouraging everyone to toss their unnecessary paperwork in the recycling bin (with as much gusto as you like!) Take a photo or video of you doing your own document dunk, share it on social media using the hashtag #AdobeDocCloud and you may be surprised that a happier workplace isn’t the only thing in your future.
Thanks for an interesting and energizing Accelerate 2015! If you want to try e-signatures for yourself, sign up for a free trial of eSign services from Adobe Document Cloud.
