Printer and paper companies aren’t usually recognized as leaders in sustainability—but that’s what makes Ricoh special. Once known primarily for its printers and copiers, Ricoh UK now promotes paperless innovations as one of the world’s most sustainable corporations. Today it offers an array of services as a total document and IT solutions provider.

Like any business, Ricoh UK sales representatives place a high priority on creating and sustaining strong client relationships. Once impeded by the monotony of in-person meetings and deal closings, reps now excel with the addition of eSign services from Adobe Document Cloud to their team, completing nearly 600 contracts per month in the United Kingdom. eSign services trim about five days off of contract turnaround time per deal and prevent delays when securing important transactions.

“Adobe provides us with an innovative, new option for e-signing to reach customers by removing physical barriers that might inhibit business,” Ray Young, business development director at Ricoh UK.

After seeing stimulated results with eSign services, the solution was tested on another sizeable project for HR. Paper-based new employee contracts proved problematic for everyone involved, requiring 64 pieces of paper and 10 signatures. Adobe Document Cloud eSign services turned every last page into an electronic document, allowing HR to process about 500 employee contacts annually while completely eliminating the need to scan, print, or forward documents.

“With better productivity and high accountability for our sales and HR processes, eSign services in Adobe Document Cloud help us better serve our customers and our employees,” says Michael Bishop, head of the UK shared services center.

Adobe Document Cloud eSign services removed the “paper jam” level of efficiency from Ricoh UK’s laborious business transactions and replaced it with a seamless paper-free approach. Read the full story here.
