Scrubby Sliders in Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop

Positioning the cursor over the text or icon next to a numeric entry field in the Options bar (and in most panels and dialog boxes) displays the “Scrubby Sliders” icon (a hand with small arrows pointing to the left and right). When the Scrubby Slider icon is visible, clicking and dragging decreases/increases the value as you drag left/right. Adding the Option (Mac) / Alt (Win) + dragging decreases the values more slowly while adding the Shift key increases the values more quickly.

Note that some users (myself included) have run into issues with the scrubby sliders when using Wacom pens in Windows 10. Trying to drag a scrubby slider will result in the pointer snapping back where it started depending on how much you move the scrubby slider.

It appears to be linked to the change in Wacom drivers to using the native Windows Ink function. Disabling windows Ink in the Wacom settings will fix it but it will break pressure sensitivity. There is a fix out there that tells Photoshop to use the older WinTab api that provides pressure selectivity and fixes the scrubby slider issue. This can be found in this thread:

It may result in some pen lag (didn’t for me) but otherwise it fixes this issue.
