We asked and you found him! Where in the World WAS Russell Brown?

Creative juices were flowing for the two weeks when we challenged you to participate in the “Where in the World is Russell Brown?” contest. We asked the Photoshop Touch community to grab a photo of Russell Brown, Senior Creative Director at Adobe, in a variety of looks from our Flickr album, and drop him into a scene. We’ve marveled (and laughed!) at the often humorous submissions that flowed in via Twitter with the #WhereisRussell hashtag. Imaginations really ran wild with folks envisioning super-sized or miniature versions of Russell and his run-ins with zombies, wildlife or historical landmarks. We randomly chose eight daily winners to receive iTunes gift cards and watched as submissions inspired even more wacky scenarios.

Russell got a kick out of all the submissions as they came in – each one demonstrating the magic and the fun of Photoshop Touch on your tablet device. He wanted to acknowledge all the effort that went into the submissions and drafted this short note for all of you:

I want to take a moment and thank everyone who participated in the “Where in the World is Russell Brown?” challenge. The number of creative solutions some of you came up with was truly amazing and I really enjoyed seeing what everyone constructed from my crazy portraits. I do my fair share of traveling, but it’s always great to see my set of characters travel to exotic and almost surreal locations. As I narrowed down my selection for the winner I found myself looking for the most imaginative and funniest solutions. The technical skills of combining the images in Photoshop Touch was important, but ultimately it’s the concept and humor that grabs my attention every time. Once again, thanks for participating and I hope we can do more Photoshop Touch challenges in the future.

Russell also chose two weekly winners, Thomas T. and Julie W., to win a new iPad. Here’s their work:

ou in fact make it seem so effortless with your presentation but I find this topic to be basically something which I think I’d never ever understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for the next post, I will try to have the hang of it!
