First there was the battle of the bands. Then the dance off. Now there’s Creative Jam.
As part of our Create Now: New Creative Meet Up in London later this month, we’re recruiting graphic designers and motion designers to (metaphorically) fight it out over two hours to create the most inspirational, original and unique piece of design work they possibly can.
We’re looking for ambitious creatives to join us on Thursday 27th March at Fabric in Central London to take part in, what we’re calling, a ‘Creative Jam.’ We’re looking for entries from the very best motion and graphics specialists, who are ready to do battle, collaborate and show off their boundless originality amongst their peers.
We’ll task our participating designers with creating a piece of content around a particular theme, giving them two hours during the event (which will be live streamed) to interpret the theme and create a fantastic piece of work. You’ve got creative licence to interpret the brief however you wish, so long as any graphics used are royalty free.
First things first, you need to enter – and we’re accepting entries for both individuals and teams (of two) across two categories; motion and graphics. All entrants are required to have a Behance portfolio as this will be used to show your work throughout the ‘Creative Jam.’ If you think you’ve got what it takes, then you have until Friday 7 March to enter. The winning designers will walk away with membership to Creative Cloud and a Wacom Cintiq on the night.
We’re also giving you, the creative community, the chance to decide exactly what the theme of the Creative Jam is. It could be anything from a current news story, to a line from a poem, song or well-known saying. We’ll be revealing all on the night, but if you have a flash of inspiration or a theme you think it would be interesting to bring to life in our Creative Jam, and then submit your suggestion here by Monday 17 March.
What is Create Now: New Creative Meet Up?
It’s an exclusive, invite only affair, and a great way for you to meet some top industry movers and shakers, and show them your creativity at the same time. There’ll be luminary sessions from illustrator and graphic designer Gavin Campbell, designer and artist Chris LaBrooy, in addition to the live Creative Jam.
